Franklin County Citizen's Alerting System (CAS)
The County of Franklin, in partnership with GeoComm, have implemented a system that will send telephone notifications to residents and businesses within the Franklin County area, when impacted by, or in danger of being impacted by, an emergency or disaster. This system, called the "Franklin County Citizen's Alerting System", will be used by emergency response personnel to notify homes and businesses at risk, with information on the event and/or actions to take. The system utilizes the area's database and is able to contact land-line telephones whether listed or unlisted. It is TTY/TDD capable. Because the system uses the 9-1-1 database, only land-line numbers are presently in the system. If you have a Voice over IP (VoIP) or cellular telephone and would like to be notified over that device, or if you would like an email notification, you must register those telephone numbers and/or email address for use by this system. If you want to see examples, please look below the registration icon. Otherwise, you may proceed by clicking on the icon. |
To register your VoIP, cellular telephone or email address please click the link below. Remember your land-line number is already included! |
PLEASE NOTE: When registering or making changes after registering your cell phone or email address in Franklin County’s Citizens Alerting System, it may take as much as 4 weeks before that cell number or email address becomes active for notifications due to the review, validation and activation process the County must complete. Additionally, changes to your landline phone number with your phone carrier may take a similar length of time to get through the carriers system and to Franklin County to become active on the alerting system. |
