Pursuant to the Franklin County Code the Franklin County Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 6:00 pm in the Franklin County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room located in the Franklin County Government Center, 1255 Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 to which all interested parties are invited in reference to the following request:
- PETITION for VARIANCE – Petition of Carl Nill, Owner and Petitioner, to apply for two variances as follows: (1) a variance to Section 25-164 (Expansion or Enlargement) of the Franklin County Code, to allow for the addition of a conforming bedroom and deck onto a legal nonconforming single-family structure, said structure being non-conforming due to a deficient front yard setback measuring thirty-eight (38) feet from the public right-of-way line, and (2) a fifteen (15) foot variance to Section 25-226(a) (Minimum Dimensions- Front Setback) to allow for the construction of a nine hundred eighty-six (986) square foot freestanding detached garage with a front setback of 40 feet from the centerline of Periwinkle Road, a public road with a right-of-way width of fifty (50) feet. Both variances are requested for property located at 589 Periwinkle Road in the Gills Creek District, said property further identified in Franklin County Real Estate Records as Tax Map/Parcel # 0300100500. The subject property is zoned R-1 (Residential Suburban Subdivision District). (Case # VAR-10-17-15778)
