Pursuant to the Franklin County Code the Franklin County Board of Zoning Appeals hereby gives notice of a public hearing to be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 6:00pm in the Franklin County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room located in the Franklin County Government Center, 1255 Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, VA  24151 to which all interested parties are invited in reference to the following requests:

  1. APPLICATION for VARIANCE- Application of Joel R. Shepherd, Applicant, and Edward J. Mennuti and Elizabeth Mennuti, Owners, to apply for a 5.75 foot variance to Section 25-180 (a), Area regulations, of the Franklin County Code, while subdividing a residential parcel (approximately 1.43 acres) from a larger parcel (approximately 79.16 acres) on property located at 3536 Old Franklin Turnpike in the Union Hall District of Franklin County and further identified by Franklin County Real Estate Records as Tax Map/Parcel # 0540031000. The subject property is currently zoned A-1, Agricultural District. The A-1 zoning district requires the minimum road frontage for lots of five (5) acres or less to be equal to one hundred fifty (150) feet on a state maintained primary road. The road frontage for the proposed 1.43 acre parcel is 144.25 feet, hence requiring a 5.75 foot variance (Case # VAR-02-19-16171).
