Bill Overton was elected to the position of Sheriff, taking office in January 2012. He has 29 years in Law Enforcement, began employment with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in November 1980. His Education includes: Graduated from Franklin County High School in 1979, attended Virginia Tech on a football scholarship, B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice, Graduate of the National FBI Academy and Graduate of the Virginia Forensic Science Academy.
Administrative Assistants
Sue Johnson, has the responsibility of overseeing the major administrative areas of the Sheriff's Office. Ms. Johnson also is instrumental in assisting the Sheriff with his daily duties. | Wanda Fralin is the Investigations Secretary. She is responsible for record filing, including pictures of incidents and reports for adults, ECO (Emergency Custody Orders) and TDO (Temporary Detention Orders). |
