Administration
Sheriff, Ewell A. Hunt was elected to the position of Sheriff in 2007, taking office in January 2008. Hunt served for 31 years with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office as Lieutenant. Hunt is committed to serving the community, and enhancing the relationship between the Sheriff's office and the citizens he serves. He is promoting professionalism with his new department, with goals of becoming accredited within his administration.
Chief Deputy, Billie Wayne Stockton joined Franklin County in March, 1981. He was the first African-American Captain. At the present time, he is in charge of Field Operations.
Captain Vicki Meadors joined Franklin County in 1976. She is the first female Captain with the department. At present she is in charge of Court Security and Evidence.
Lt. Jeffrey Woody joined Franklin County in August, 1985. He is Field Operations Supervisor for Road Deputies, Personnel and Coordinator of Project Lifesaver.
Lt. Mark Sweeney joined Franklin County in July, 1994. He is a Lieutenant in Administration, which includes hire of Personnel, Grant Work and Crime Prevention.
Lt. Steve McGuire joined Franklin County in January 1990. He is in charge of Investigations.
Lt. William Martin joined Franklin County in Feburary of 1983. He has mentored and worked with juveniles on house arrest since 1994. He is in charge of the Franklin County Jail.
Administrative Assistants
Sue Johnson, has the responsibility of overseeing the major administrative areas of the Sheriff's Office. Ms. Johnson also is instrumental in assisting the Sheriff with his daily duties. | Wanda Fralin is the Investigations Secretary. She is responsible for record filing, including pictures of incidents and reports for adults, ECO (Emergency Custody Orders) and TDO (Temporary Detention Orders). |
