The secondary goal of the Franklin County Jail will be to provide, whenever possible, useful and productive work assignments both for the betterment of the community and the offenders; and to provide appropriate counseling from staff or community support services to help ensure the individual's reintegration into the mainstream of society.
Objectives
To continuously strive to upgrade the facility, staff, and services; and to achieve full compliance with Minimum Standards in order to better serve the community, the courts, and the offenders. To continuously strive to achieve 100% compliance each year on Board of Corrections-Life, Health and Safety Standards for Jails.
Baliff of the Courts
The Franklin County Courthouse is located at 275 South Main Street, in Rocky Mount. In the 1980's the courthouse incurred a major renovation which increased it's area to twice it's size. The Courthouse is home to the Franklin County Circuit Court, General District Court, and the Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court. When the courthouse was in the planning stages, the Sheriff's Office was involved in the designing of the various security aspects of the building. With three courts, the Baliff's are assigned to the security of these courts; we have to maintain the highest level of safety and security to all personnel.
