A dog license can be purchased at the Treasurer's Office located in the Franklin County Courthouse at 275 South Main Street, Suite 232, Rocky Mount, VA.  All dogs must be vaccinated against rabies and licensed by four months of age.  Annual licenses, issued by the County Treasurer's Office, are $10.00 for female and male not sterilized dogs and $4.00 for male and female sterilized dogs.  A statement from a certified veterinarian indicating that the animal has been spayed must be presented to receive the discounted rate for female dogs.  A certificate of current rabies inoculation is required before a license can be issued.
