2 PART-TIME LIBRARY AIDES - Job Description
Currently accepting applications for 2 part-time Library Aides for the Franklin County Public Library System. Applications must be received no later than 5:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2012. The successful applicant will be required to perform routine clerical work in the public library system; assist the public in the use of library facilities; maintain circulation and other appropriate records. Flexible work schedule, 15-19 hours a week, no benefits. Applicants will be required to possess any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school with some experience in general clerical or library work. Starting Salary is $10.82 an hour DOQ/E. Franklin County is an AA/EEO employer.

PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER – FULL TIME & PART TIME POSITIONS - Job Description
Franklin County is currently accepting applications for one full-time and two part-time Paramedic/Firefighter(s). These positions perform difficult protective work in emergency medical services and fire suppression; engage directly in ALS/EMS stabilization procedures at the scene of a medical emergency and transport to medical facilities; engage directly in fire suppression activities and response. Successful applicant must be a HS graduate, pass a background and DMV check and possess appropriate professional certifications. A minimum of one year ALS EMS experience preferred. Deputy Sheriff - Job Description and Corrections Officer - Job Description
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department is seeking candidates interested in pursuing a position as a Deputy Sheriff for Franklin County. We do not have any current openings, but if positions become available we will review the applications for candidates in our Applicant Pool. Applications may be obtained at the Franklin County Government Center at 1255 Franklin Street, Suite #111, Rocky Mount, VA or above. Applications received pursuant to this notice will be retained until January 31, 2012 to fill openings as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Virginia driver’s license and the physical ability to perform the essential functions of a Deputy Sheriff.
