LIFEGUARD(s) and HEAD LIFEGUARD
We are currently accepting applications for Lifeguard (s) and Head Lifeguard seasonal positions (May to early September). Both positions safeguard and regulate the conduct of patrons to prevent unsafe practices and accidents by strictly enforcing policies, rules and regulations, are alert to note possible swimmers in distress, and avoid conversation with the public or other distracting influences. Assists in preparing and maintaining records concerning accidents, rescues, assists and first aid; cleaning facility and other duties as needed. Lifeguard (click for job description) must be at least 16 years old and a HS graduate or a current student; possess a valid American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding cert, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. Salary: $8.00 per hour, Depending on Experience. No Benefits. Head Lifeguard (click for job description) should be at least 21 years old and be a HS graduate or equivalent; possess a valid American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding, which includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid; have a minimum of two years experience as a lifeguard and directly oversee all seasonal lifeguards and makes weekly schedules for all lifeguards. Salary: $9.00 per, Depending on Experience. No Benefits.

FIELD/FACILITY SUPERVISOR
Franklin County Parks and Recreation seeks a Field/Facility Supervisor. The successful candidate will perform responsible work in a public setting involving supervising an assigned recreation programs’ facility AND assume responsibility to provide a safe atmosphere for the activity to take place for the players, spectators, parents, officials, umpires, etc.
Typical tasks include: Communicate and work closely with other co-workers; uses tact and courtesy when communicating with the public; assists game officials in misconduct situations; provides accurate and detailed written documentation of incidents involving misconduct or unsportsmanlike conduct by spectators, coaches, or participants and; controls lighted facilities by turning the lights on and off as needed.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, combined with experience in working with the public. Must possess a current Virginia Drivers’ License and have and successfully pass a background check. Must be at least 21 years of age with some type of organized sport activity preferred. This is a temporary part time seasonal position with no benefits.
