Sheriff Bill OvertonThe Sheriff of Franklin County, Bill Overton, was elected to office in 2012.  He is a constitutional officer elected for a term of four years.  He is responsible for law enforcement services, maintaining courtroom security at each of the courts, operation of the jail, transporting prisoners and mental patients, serving civil and criminal papers and providing crime prevention services.
