Franklin County Recreational Park is designed with tennis courts, hiking trails, playgrounds, picnic shelters, a horseshoe pit, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and pond.
Located behind Benjamin Franklin Middle School there are two public fishing ponds stocked with catfish (yearly), bass, brim, and crappie. Proper licenses required.
A ball field conveniently located within the town of Rocky Mount. It is open to all Franklin County residents. This field is also home to seasonal recreational games. Call (540) 483-9293 for more information.
This is a popular take out spot for canoeist paddling the Pigg River. Lynch Park has an open field for play and a small picnic shelter.
Is located at Rocky Mount Elementary and is the only fully accessible playground in Franklin County. The playground is open to children of all physical abilities and is open seven days a week. During school hours, parents are asked to check in with the front office at Rocky Mount Elementary.
The Franklin County Rotary Skate Park is a safe and convenient recreation area for skateboarders and rollerbladers. May it be the youth or the young at heart, this park is designed for anyone with a desire to roll.
The Smith Mountain Lake Community Park opened in 2007. This park is for everyone.
This neighborhood parks includes a maintained ball field and is open to all residents.
Amenities within the Waid Recreational Facility include hiking trails, handicap walking trails, ball fields, soccer fields, a playground, river fishing, handicap fishing pier, covered picnic shelters, picnic area platforms, covered sitting areas, bird watching areas, historical Carolina roads, and canoe access to the river.
