EMS Recovery
Franklin County Public Safety intends to operate a compassionate revenue recovery system. Presently the EMS system in Franklin County is supported by both career and volunteer members.
While the County does assist with funding the volunteer departments it is becoming more and more expensive to operate the County’s EMS system. Therefore, it has become necessary to bill insurance companies for the cost of ambulance transports. Under no circumstance will the County force collections for unpaid bills. No one will be denied emergency medical care based on the ability to pay for services.
The monies collected for the billing process go to assist with funding volunteer rescue squads, career staffing and capital improvements of the Public Safety System. This allows for improvements without using more of the County’s general fund monies. The improvements ultimately benefit the patient.
