Appearance and Dress

19.1                 Purpose
 
                         Members of this department shall present themselves in a professional manner when representing this 
                         department. The first impression of an individual also develops the impression of the department and the 
                         system.
 
19.1.2               This policy will outline the uniform and appearance standards of the department.
 
19.1.3              “Class A” shall consist of: White long sleeve button type shirt, white t-shirt, navy dress pants, navy dress 
                         coat, navy tie, polished black shoes, belt, and cover.
 
19.1.4              “Class B” shall consist of: White long sleeve button type shirt, white t-shirt, navy pants,  navy tie, polished
                         black shoes and black belt.
 
19.1.5              “Class C” shall consist of: White or Navy short sleeve button type shirt, t-shirt to match  color of shirt, 
                         navy pants, polished black shoes, black belt and department job or sweat shirt as needed.
 
19.1.6              “Class D” shall consist of: White or Navy polo type shirt, navy pants, polished black shoes and black belt.
 
19.1.7              “Class E” shall consist of: Khaki pants, department issued polo shirt, Oxford shirt or sweater.
 
19.1.8              All uniforms with the exception of white t-shirts shall be department issued.
 
19.1.9              All uniforms will be kept neat and clean.
 
19.1.10            It shall be considered appropriate to wear only department issued t-shirts when wearing protective clothing
                         or working in and around the station.
 
19.1.11            It shall be appropriate to wear only department issued t-shirts in inclement weather such as temperatures
                        predicted to be greater than 80 degrees F.
 
19.1.12            It shall be appropriate to only wear department issued job/sweat shirts or turn out gear in inclement 
                        weather such as snow, ice, rain, etc. on calls or in house.
 
19.1.13            Hair will be kept clean and neatly trimmed. Hair length will not be excessive as to create a potential hazard.
 
19.1.14            Facial hair will not interfere with respiratory protection devices.
 
19.1.15            Beards or goatees are NOT allowed.
