The Franklin County Department of Social Services is one of 120 local departments in Virginia's public social services system. The Department is an agency of county government which administers federal, state, and local public assistance and social work service programs. 

Our offices are open Monday - Friday 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m. except when closed in observance of a county holiday.  Please click here for a list of 2009 holidays.

If you have an appointment but are exhibiting any flu-like symptoms, please call your worker.  We may be able to conduct your interview over the phone or reschedule your appointment.  

Symptoms of the flu include, but are not limited to:
 
 *Sudden onset of illness         *Fever higher than 100.4 degree Fahrenheit
*Chills                  *Cough           *Headache               *Sore throat
*Stuffy nose         *Muscle aches        *Feeling of weakness

 *Diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain and/or exhaustion (occur more commonly in children)
