Franklin County has 12 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school with a total of approximately 6,600 students. Protecting our children while they are attending school is a top priority for the Office of the Sheriff. In addition to the 4 School Resource Officers, deputies are in and out of our local schools multiple times a day, at varying times, and interacting with the children is always a highlight of our day!
Being able to spend time with our youth, from Pre-K to High School, allows us to build up positive relationships. We want our children to know us as a friend and mentor, someone that they can depend on to keep them safe.
Within the Office of the Sheriff, there are over 60 members who are parents, 15 of those are grandparents, and 16 have immediate family members who work within our school system. As our children grow up together in our local schools, we are here to protect each and every one of our youth just as they are our own. We are thankful for our awesome relationship with Franklin County Public Schools, who welcome us into their classrooms each day!
