Franklin County, Virginia is preparing to carry out County of Franklin COVID Pandemic Response 2021 through the use of Virginia Community Development Block Grant Funds.  In the implementation of this project the following kinds of contracts will be issued and procurements made:

Meal Partnership: Applications open to small business owners that employ an average of 20 or less full-time equivalent employees through the course of the year, for partnership in providing meal vouchers to families with young children in Franklin County, Virginia. Restaurants will be reimbursed up to $20.00 per meal voucher.

Produce Partnership: Applications open to agricultural producers in collaboration with Franklin County farmers’ markets for partnership in providing fresh food vouchers to senior residents in Franklin County, Virginia. Producers will be reimbursed up to $20.00 per fresh food voucher.   

Free Clinic Support: Franklin County, Virginia in conjunction with the West Piedmont Planning District Commission will partner with the Bernard Health Center: Free Clinic of Franklin County to provide funding for operational costs.

Franklin County, Virginia is soliciting the participation of minority-owned and female-owned businesses, contractors and suppliers in carrying out this project.  Such businesses may be included on appropriate bid and procurement lists by submitting a written request within ten (10) days of this notice.  Requests should state the name, address, product or service, and how the firm qualifies as a minority or female owned business concern.
